Do you set up multiple alarms in order to wake up and pray Fajr on time yet still repeatedly fail to do so?
Do you keep oversleeping and praying Fajr after sunrise despite taking the means?
Do you doubt whether you had legitimate excuses for not waking up and praying Fajr on time or not?
If the answer is 'yes' to any of the above questions, then I'm here to help you overcome those obstacles bi'idhnī[A]llāh with a key strategy explained below.
Realise that one effective way to overcome any deception from your soul/Shaytān when it comes to waking up for Fajr is to plan and vision ahead in reminding yourself by telling yourself the following (or something similar) when the time comes where you have no excuse but to wake up for Fajr - whether by alarm/otherwise - and as soon as you wake up after saying the recommended adhkār (remembrances of Allāh):
"If you had to go work during the early morning time, which requires you to wake up at Fajr time, you would wake up even if you didn't get enough sleep. So of course you have the ability to wake up for Fajr. Therefore, get used to experiencing the discomfort in waking up for Fajr like you'd do for work."
Alternatively, you could give yourself the same reminder as above except changing 'had to go work' to 'would receive a million pounds by praying Fajr at the Masjid in congregation' as well as changing the last word - 'work' - to '1 million pounds' or something else you think would be more effective for you personally as a realisation that you do have the ability to wake up for Fajr even if it seems to feel difficult.
Realise that by waking up and praying Fajr properly and sincerely on time, you are bound to be more productive during that day than otherwise, ceteris paribus, due to the barakah (blessings) from Allāh. On top of that, you will also have a net worth of more than hundreds of trillions of pounds just by praying the recommended two raka'ahs (units) of Fajr sunnah prayer in Shā Allāh.
Āisha reported: The Prophet ﷺ said,
“Two units of prayer before the dawn prayer are better than the world and everything in it. They are both more beloved to me than the entire world.” [1]
May Allāh grant us the tawfīq to pray Fajr at the best time consistently - every single day. Āmīn
