Achieving Success | Inspiration from Reverts

Updated: Nov 21, 2024

Bitesize Inspiration

Many born muslims in the current era feel shy of their identity as a muslim in public.

They look up towards the non-believers who are influential, famous and rich, thinking the way towards achieving success is by blindly following them in terms of actions, behaviour and mindsets, compromising their islāmic principles thereby.

On the other hand, you have influential, famous, rich non-believers who are seeking the Truth, using their logical ability gifted by Allāh in doing so.

They end up accepting Islām and are proud to be muslims.

Soon after, these reverts start doing da'wa (calling others towards Islām), defending Islām on public platforms with great reach where even celebrities watch what they have to say. These reverts are ready to face challenges that come as a result of the aforementioned activities. May Allāh keep our hearts firm upon the Deen.

Allāh says:

'O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islām), Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people whom He will love and they will love Him...' [Al-Qur'ān, 5:54]

If you as a born Muslim feel a lack of conviction in Islām, one advice I've given is to do what many reverts did prior to their reversion, that led them to accepting Islām: research/study Islām with the intention to seek the Truth and attain conviction. One of the best ways to do that, is to go through the whole Qur'ān - Allāh's Speech - in English (if you don't know Arabic).

A serious mistake one can make is thinking the actions, behaviour, and mindsets of the muslims purely reflect Islām.

Realise people are on different stages when it comes to practicing Islām. Even the most righteous muslims/scholars will have shortcomings and flaws since they are still human beings who are infallible. So the best thing to do in order to truly understand Islām is research/study it with the right intentions as explained above.
